Meaning: Keep your distance or leave. Then gave me the biblical line:

'If your hand or your foot should be your downfall, cut it off and throw it away: it is better for you to enter into life crippled or lame, than to have two hands or two feet and be thrown into eternal fire. And if your eye should be your downfall, tear it out and throw it away: it is better for you to enter into life with one eye, than to have two eyes and be thrown into the hell of fire. If your arm causes you to sin, cut it off. (Matthew 18:8-9)

If someone is causing you to be unforgiving, which is a sin, cut-off from that person.

Question: What if it’s someone you cannot avoid (someone you live or work with)?

God’s answer:

I provide a change of scenery

Question: So if we pray to you, you will take us out of the situation?

God’s answer:

Things change.

Meaning: Things change means God is not limiting “change of scenery” to an actual physical move/separation. It can also mean that he will change the “relationship” itself (change things for the better), change the environment.

Question: How about in situations where there is a crime committed, is it right when people seek justice?

God’s answer:

Justice not revenge.

Meaning: Revenge is: ‘an eye for an eye, tooth for a tooth.’ You are bloodthirsty. Justice is: To teach them a lesson.

The phrase “to teach someone a lesson” to us means to punish or hurt someone as a deterrent. God corrects this by emphasizing the word teach, and states:

Teach not punish –take away the spite.

Question: What is the lesson that these people should be taught?

God’s answer:

Bring them down to their knees

Meaning: To ask for forgiveness because they know what they did was wrong.

Question: How is this possible without punishing people, especially those that are hardened?

God’s answer:

You leave the sentencing to me.

Question: In other words we should ask you to handle the situation for us and move according to your will/instructions?

God’s answer:

You let go and let God
You are a peacemaker.
